Personal Assistant - Boutique Artist Salon & Rental Space
Location: In-person, Orchard Street, Lower East Side, NYC 10002
Schedule: Part-time, ~20 hours/week (ideally Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri - 5-hour shifts; with flexibility)
Compensation: Starting at NYC minimum wage $16.50, with room to increase based on performance. Monthly complimentary hair color & cut services.
About Us
We’re a boutique artist salon and rental space on the Lower East Side. Small team,high standards, creative energy. You’ll work directly with the owner and see the real,behind-the-scenes of running an NYC business-from client relations to brand strategyand space-rental marketing. It’s a great entry point into the beauty & fashion world, with hands-on mentorship and exposure to content, events, and partnerships.
What You’ll Do
Admin & Organization:
Clean up and structure multiple Gmail accounts (labels/filters, archives, canned replies).
Maintain organized Google Drive folders: account info, vendors, logins, SOPs.
Track light inventory/receipts and keep simple spreadsheets up to date.
Client Comms & Scheduling:
Respond to client texts/DMs warmly and professionally.
Book and reschedule appointments; send reminders and follow-ups as needed
Keep the owner’s calendar accurate, and reviewed weekly.
Maintain tidy client notes (preferences, services, formulas).
Social Media (Weekly Rhythm):
Draft/schedule IG + TikTok posts/reels/stories using provided content.
This is not a social media position, rather recalling/categorizing content & drafting posts
Maintain a simple content calendar and share a short weekly metrics recap.
Space-Rental Marketing (Proactive Outreach):
List/optimize our space on sites like Peerspace/Splacer/Giggster; sync calendars.
Research and cold call/email venue scouts, planners, production coordinators, and local groups.
Keep a leads sheet current; send tailored pitches; track responses and conversions.
Schedule walkthroughs, holds, bookings, and post-event follow-ups.
On-Site Support:
Light tidying/reset between clients; restock refreshments/supplies.
Prep the space for shoots, events, and rental viewings.

Tools you know (or can learn fast):
Mac, Gmail/Google Workspace, Sheets/Numbers basic formulas), Instagram, TikTok, Canva; basic booking/calendar tools.
Growth & Mentorship
Direct mentorship on client relations, ops, and rental strategy.
BTS exposure to brand partnerships, pricing, booking funnels, and social content.
Clear path to increased pay/hours as you create measurable impact.
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
Inbox & Drive: Filters/labels working; <10 untriaged emails daily; shared folders orderly.
Scheduling: Up-to-date communications
Social: Content clearly labeled and organized, some drafts
Rentals: 3-5 qualified inquiries/week from listings + outreach; lead tracker maintained; first bookings landed.
30/60/90 Plan
0-30 days: Audit/organize Gmail & Drive; refresh listings; build initial lead list; set
content calendar.
31-60 days: Fully own client comms/scheduling; run weekly social/report;
maintain outreach cadence; book 1-2 rentals.
61-90 days: Improve SOPs; expand planner/producer network; optimize listing
media/SEO; target 2-4 rentals per month.
Schedule & Location
On-site, ~20 hours/week; ideally Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri (5 hours/day). Occasional flexibility for events.
